Le Pays de la Sagouine launched its enchanted nighttime path, Lumina: AKADI LUMINA, on August 3, 2023, at its site in Bouctouche, New Brunswick. Created by the Montreal multimedia entertainment studio Moment Factory, this immersive and illuminated trail is the 18th in the series and marks the first of its kind in Atlantic Canada. The creation of this nighttime Lumina trail at Le Pays de la Sagouine is the first step of a larger project aimed at paving the way for the next 30 years at the site. This project is made possible by a significant investment announced in the summer of 2022 by the governments of Canada and New Brunswick. The immersive experience is the first of many projects funded by this investment, ensuring the future of Le Pays de la Sagouine as a premier tourist destination.
What is a Lumina Night Trail?
Lumina Night Trails are a series of immersive experiences that reveal the exceptional beauty of a natural site. The adventure engages the audience by inviting them to partake in a narrative experience that combines light, projections, special effects, soundscapes, and original music.
The design of the Lumina Night Trail at Le Pays de la Sagouine is inspired by Acadian culture and history, as well as the iconic landscapes of the region. Acadian artists and artisans worked alongside the team from Le Pays de la Sagouine and Moment Factory to bring the trail to life. The trail follows a walking path through the woods on the Le Pays de la Sagouine site and is approximately 1.5 km in length. It is accessible after dark, and the entire family is invited to discover the Lumina experience.
